CETL Launches Induction Training
Resource Persons and Faculties in the ‘Teaching and Learning Strategies’ on 8 February 2025.
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at ULAB launched its Induction Training for Tertiary Teachers with the first module, ‘Teaching and Learning Strategies,’ on 8 February 2025.
The training began with a thought-provoking discussion by Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam, PhD, who explored the construction of learning amid various layers of disruption. Dr. A. F. Wazir Ahmad introduced the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, setting the foundation for a structured and goal-oriented approach to teaching. Tazin Ahmed followed with an insightful session on learning styles and retention, highlighting strategies to enhance student engagement.
Dr. Haseeb Irfanullah led an interactive session on active learning, while Golam Kader Zilany addressed best practices for fostering engagement in online lessons. Parven S. Huda emphasized the importance of adult learning perspectives, offering insights into creating meaningful and participatory learning experiences. The training concluded with Dr. M. Shazzad Hossain, who shared key strategies for effective course management.
Overall, the session provided practical, research-driven strategies to empower educators in their new roles, equipping them to cultivate a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
