The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) recognized outstanding faculty and student contributions to teaching and learning innovation at the Educational Innovation Symposium 2025 (EIS25), held on 14 November 2025. Organized by the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) in collaboration with the Blended Learning Committee, the symposium concluded with the announcement of Best Paper and Best Poster awards, selected by an external expert jury.

In the Creative Teaching Practices and Technology-Enhanced Learning category, the Best Paper Award was conferred on “Private University Readiness for Hybrid Learning in Bangladesh,” authored by Jude William Genilo, Sarkar Barbaq Quarmal, and Mohammad Aminul Islam. The Best Paper Award in the Curriculum Innovation and Innovative Assessment Methods category was presented to “Exploring E-Readiness in Online Filmmaking Education in Bangladesh,” authored by Mohammad Shazzad Hossain.

Recognizing student-led innovation, the Best Paper Award under Student Contributions to Educational Innovation was awarded to “Ecology of Tech-Based Education in ELT Inspired through Sci-Fi Movies: Policies and Practices in Bangladesh,” authored by M. A. Rahat and Golam Kader Zilany. The Best Poster Award in the same category was presented to Naveen Islam Toree and Jannatul Mawa.

The jury for EIS25 comprised Professor Dr. Farheen Hassan, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB); Professor Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, Director of CETL at Green University of Bangladesh; and Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Director of IQAC at Leading University. Following a rigorous blind review process across the symposium’s thematic tracks, the jury identified submissions that demonstrated excellence and innovation in pedagogy, curriculum design, and technology integration.

Commenting on the selected works, Professor Dr. ASM Shihavuddin noted that the award-winning papers and posters reflect emerging leadership in educational innovation and highlight the growing culture of research-informed teaching practices. CETL–ULAB also announced that future editions of the symposium will expand competitive segments to encourage wider participation, including greater international engagement.
