CETL, ULAB conducts an Induction Training session for newly appointed faculty members, led by special training resource person Prof. Mohammad Ibrahim, PhD.

The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) successfully conducted a four-day Induction Training for Tertiary Teachers on 13, 14, 15, and 17 January 2026. The programme was designed to equip newly appointed faculty members with essential pedagogical, technological, advising, and assessment competencies. Sixteen faculty members participated in the training.

The structured programme comprised four core modules: Teaching and Learning Strategies, Student Advising, Use of Technology (LMS), and Assessment of Learning. Sessions emphasized practical application through interactive workshops, collaborative group activities, and hands-on engagement with digital tools. Participants also experienced a gamified assessment activity using Kahoot!, adding an engaging and participatory dimension to the learning process.

A central focus of the training was the development of inclusive, gender-sensitive, and student-centered classrooms that respond effectively to the needs of Gen Z learners in the age of Artificial Intelligence. The sessions encouraged reflective teaching practices, outcome-based course design, and meaningful integration of technology in learning environments.

The programme was facilitated by a distinguished team of resource persons, including Professor Jude William Genilo, PhD; Professor Mohammad Ibrahim, PhD; Professor Shamsad Mortuza, PhD; Professor Imran Rahman; Dr. Wazir A. F. Ahmad; Dr. Sarkar Barbaq Quarmal; Ms. Arifa Ghani Rahman; and Dr. Mohammad Shazzad Hossain.

The induction training underscored the importance of reflective practice, empathy, and continuous innovation in strengthening teaching excellence at ULAB. Through this initiative, CETL reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a dynamic and forward-looking academic community dedicated to high-quality, student-centered education.
