UGC-HEAT-AFT Research Proposal Writing Workshop on 16 February 2026.

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) successfully organized a “Workshop on Writing ATF Sub-Project Proposal” on 16 February 2026 at the university premises, in collaboration with the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation Project (HEAT Project).

The session was graced by Professor Jude William R. Genilo, Pro Vice Chancellor of ULAB, as Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the strategic importance of effective project proposal writing in securing competitive funding and strengthening institutional research capacity. He encouraged faculty members to pursue innovative research initiatives aligned with national development priorities and global academic standards.

Professor Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee, Treasurer of ULAB, attended the programme as Special Guest. He highlighted the critical role of accountability, sound financial planning, and long-term sustainability in developing impactful and fundable sub-project proposals.

The keynote address was delivered by Professor Mohammad Moninoor Roshid, Research Coordination Specialist (Wing Manager) of the HEAT Project and Professor at the Institute of Education and Research, University of Dhaka. He provided comprehensive guidance on the structure, technical requirements, evaluation criteria, and best practices for preparing high-quality ATF sub-project proposals. His presentation offered practical insights into aligning proposals with project objectives, ensuring measurable outcomes, and maintaining compliance with HEAT guidelines.

The session was chaired by Ms. Arifa Ghani Rahman, Head of the Department of English and Humanities at ULAB. In her remarks, she underscored the importance of faculty collaboration, mentorship, and capacity building in advancing a strong and sustainable research culture within the university.

The workshop brought together faculty members and relevant stakeholders who actively engaged in discussions and interactive segments. The event served as a vital platform to enhance institutional readiness for ATF funding opportunities under the HEAT Project, reaffirming ULAB’s commitment to academic excellence, research development, and quality assurance.
