ULAB Passes ISO Re-Certification
The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has passed ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System Re-certification. The ISO audit was held on 27 September 2022. The re-certification, with a period from 2022 to 2025, covers all academic and administrative support activities of the university’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
V.K. Saxena headed a three-person audit team from Equalitas Certifications Limited. They interviewed and inspected documents from various non-academic departments like Communications, Admission Office, IT Unit, Students Affairs Office (SAO), Career Service Office (CSO), HR Unit, Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), General Administration, Purchase Office, Store and Co-Curricular Office (CCO). The academic departments audited were Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and General Education Department (GED). At the end of the audit, the auditors conducted an exit meeting with the top administrators of the university, led by ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor Imran Rahman.
The university's ISO 9001: 2015 journey started seven years ago. In March 2015, ULAB Vice President Dr. Kazi Anis Ahmed and Vice Chancellor Prof. Imran Rahman approved the proposal for ISO Quality Management System Certification. They believed that the exercise will help ULAB become more efficient. It will enable the university to focus on its core areas - leading to increased productivity and better student service. ISO is likewise a globally recognized standard, which will improve the reputation of the university.
