The National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education (NIAD –QE) in Japan organized the Quality Assurance Forum 2020 on 23 September 2020 with the title: “The Tokyo Convention and Diversified Learning Transition Phase in Recognition of Qualifications”. The forum started with the opening address by FUKUDA Hideaki, President, NIAD-QE. There were three keynote speakers: (1) Libing WANG, Chief, Section for Educational Innovation and Skills Development (EISD), UNESCO Asia-Pacific Region; (2) Chantavit SUJATANOND, Centre Director, Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED); and (3) Luca LANTERO, Director, Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence (CIMEA), President, Lisbon Recognition Convention Committee Bureau.

 

After the keynote speeches, a panel discussion ensued. The discussants were: (1) SATO Kuniaki, Chief Director for University Reform, Higher Education Bureau, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT); (2) YAMAMOTO Natsuki, General Manager, Human Capital Division (Japan), Human Capital Group, Hitachi Ltd.; (3) SUGIMURA Miki, Vice President for Global Academic Affairs, Professor of Faculty of Human Sciences, Sophia University; and (4) TANIGUCHI Isao, President, National Institute of Technology.  The discussion was moderated by HOTTA Taiji, Professor, Research Department, NIAD-QE and Executive Director, National Information Center for Academic Recognition Japan).  The forum ended with the closing remarks of HASEGAWAT Oshikazu Vice-President and Dean, Research Department, NIAD-QE. Professor Jude William Genilo Director of IQAC of ULAB attended the forum.
