External Quality Assurance

The university and its program offering entities aim for continuous accreditation in the following external bodies:

University Grants Commission

The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh is the statutory apex body in the field of higher education in Bangladesh. The primary objectives of the UGC are to supervise, maintain, promote and coordinate university education. It is also responsible for maintaining standards and quality in all the public and private universities in Bangladesh. The UGC initiated in 2014 a project on quality assurance under Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP). The project aims at improving the quality of teaching-learning and research capabilities of the tertiary education institutions through encouraging both innovation and accountability and by enhancing the technical and institutional capacity of the higher education sector.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Accreditation

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization. It aims “to formulate and promote the use of international standards for all industries”. ULAB is aiming in particular for ISO 9001: 2008 accreditation, which specifies requirements for a quality management system.
