UGC-CEMCA Holds Online and Blended Learning Workshop
University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) and Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) jointly organized a workshop entitled “Capacity Building Programme on Online and Blended learning in Higher Education at Bangladesh on 23 September 2021 (on virtual platform Zoom). The program was presided over by UGC Chair Prof. Dr. Kazi Shahidullah. UGC Members Prof. Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, Prof. Dr. Abu Taher and UGC Secretary Dr. Ferdous Zaman were present in the Inaugural Session of the workshop. International and local dignitaries and online and blended learning facilitators: Prof. Dr. Madhu Parhar, Director, Commonwealth Educational Media Center for Asia (CEMCA); Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, Senior Program Officer, Commonwealth Educational Media Center for Asia (CEMCA); Prof. Mostafa Azad Kamal, Treasurer and Dean, School of Business, Bangladesh Open University; Mr. Purandar Sengupta, Master trainer and Mentor Designer and Facilitator of learning programs, CEMCA; and Dr. Shaunak Roy, Resource Person and National Trainer, CEMCA. Around 1,000 participants from selected 20 public and private universities in Bangladesh attended session. After the session, CEMCA organized a 20-day workshop, which was facilitate in both synchronous and asynchronous modes. The CEMCA workshop tackled the following: • How to develop a blended learning module in your university? • What are the various ICT tools that can be used in a class? • Activity sessions on demonstration of select ICT tools? • Various learning models and taxonomies along with their applications in blended learning context; • Various evaluation and assessment paradigms in the blended learning context; • Activity sessions on Learning Methods & Evaluation Models • Assessment and Evaluation activities based on understanding of content from LMS and Live Sessions.
