CETL-ULAB Arranged New Faculty Orientation for Summer 2023

On 17 June 2023, the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) hosted the New Faculty Orientation Summer 2023 at ULAB, which welcomed twelve newly recruited faculties from various academic and research centers. The event was led by CETL director Dr. M. Shazzad Hossain.

During the opening speech, Vice Chancellor Professor Imran Rahman introduced the core principles of ULAB, the founder, and the board of trustees. CES director Sajid Amit shared insights on liberal arts education. On the other hand, visiting fellow of CSD, Dr. Haseeb Irfanullah, addressed the core of sustainability and the impact of SDGs in education. Additionally, Prof. M. Mofazzal Hossain, the Dean of Science and Engineering, thoroughly explained the OBE curriculum in higher education institutions.

During the event, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Jude William Genilo emphasized the significance of having a teaching portfolio and conducting research in pursuing a career in academia. Meanwhile, the Dean of the Arts and Humanities, Prof. Kaiser Haq, tackled the challenge of engaging students in a world filled with distractions through effective teaching methods. Lastly, Musa Mohammad Arif Billah, the Director of HR, highlighted the different facilities and support services available at ULAB.
