IQAC Director attended WURI Global Conference 2024

ULAB IQAC Director Professor Dr. Jude William R. Genilo presented the Greening ULAB Project at WURI Global Conference on 24 to 26 September 2024.

 

From 24 to 26 September 2024, the World University Network for Innovation (WUNI) Global Leaders gathered in Seoul, South Korea, to honor outstanding achievements at the 2024 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). Participants represented a diverse array of countries, including Korea, the Philippines, Türkiye, Romania, Ethiopia, India, Germany, Taiwan, Cambodia, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Albania, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei.

The opening ceremony featured Minerva University, recognized as the most innovative high-ranking university, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, honored for its exceptional projects among high-ranked entries. ASSIST University served as the official host of the 2024 WURI Global Conference.

In a joint welcome address, Jin-Suk Kim (Chair of the WGC24 Executive Committee), Kyung-Sung Kim (Chair of WURI 2025), and Dong-Sung Cho (Founder of WURI) emphasized the highly competitive nature of this year’s submissions, with 2,916 innovative cases evaluated from 1,072 universities worldwide. A panel of 156 university presidents assessed the entries based on their innovativeness, feasibility, and impact, underscoring the dedication of global institutions to progressive and visionary leadership.

ULAB Pro Vice Chancellor and IQAC Director attended the conference on behalf of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).  He presented the Greening ULAB Project, which was voted as second most innovative program under the crisis communication category in the WURI Ranking 2024.  ULAB was the only Bangladeshi university in WURI’s top 100 global innovative universities, ranking 69 worldwide.
