On 22 February 2025, as part of the Induction Training for Tertiary Teachers, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) conducted a hands-on training session on the role of technology in teaching and learning, focusing on Moodle, one of the most widely used and trusted learning management systems (LMS).

The session began with Arifa Ghani Rahman, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English and Humanities (DEH), who provided an overview of essential Moodle operations, including profile management, course setup, and assignment creation. Following this, Dr. Sarkar Barbaq Quarmal, Associate Professor in the Department of Media Studies and Journalism, introduced the concept of question banks and demonstrated strategies to optimize their use in Moodle for effective assessment.

The training concluded with an interactive discussion led by Dr. M. Shazzad Hossain, who explored how effective course planning through Moodle can enhance learning experiences and create multidimensional opportunities for student engagement.

This session equipped participants with practical skills to integrate Moodle into their teaching, reinforcing technology’s transformative potential in higher education.
