Student advising session for faculty members on 13 February 2025.

 

On 13 February 2025, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) successfully conducted the second module of its Induction Training for Tertiary Teachers (ITT2), focusing on ‘Student Advising.’

The session brought together esteemed faculty members and administrative leaders for insightful discussions on key aspects of student advising. Topics covered included the effective use of ULAB’s facilities, the open credit system, academic advising, co-curricular engagement in student development, and important non-academic considerations for faculty members.

The sessions were led by experts in their respective fields:

  • Nazmul Hossain, Manager – Overview of student support facilities
  • Muhammad Aminuzzaman, Internship Coordinator, MSJ – Academic advising and career preparation
  • Arzoo Ismail, Proctor – Student conduct and well-being
  • Nusrat Tajkia, Coordinator, DEH – Co-curricular engagement and student development

Additionally, Arifa Ghani Rahman, Head of DEH, and Dr. M. Shazzad Hossain, CETL Director, led discussions on e-learning, technology integration, and institutional policies that shape student advising.

The program concluded with a recap session led by Golam Kader Zilany, CETL Coordinator, reinforcing key takeaways and best practices in student advising.
