The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized a day-long workshop on Institutional Accreditation on 12 March 2020 at the Campus A Auditorium. Dr. M. Ruhul Amin, Founder and Chairman of BAASANA (Business and Applied Science Academy of North America), facilitated the said workshop, attended by around 29 participants. The participants included the top management, Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) members, Deans, HoDs, Coordinators, Program Quality Assurance Committee (PQAC) members and lead auditors/internal auditors.

The objective of this workshop was to gain sufficient knowledge with regard to the critical branding of ULAB, particularly on whether to apply for institutional accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE, USA).   The session started with the opening remarks by Prof. H M Jahirul Haque, Vice Chancellor of ULAB; followed by a presentation on "University Accreditation, Ranking and Branding" by IQAC Director Jude Genilo.

After which, the workshop facilitator provided an overview of institutional accreditation in the US as well as the seven standards of the MSCHE.  He divided the participants into seven groups and each group needed to work on one MSCHE standard as it applies to the university.  Each group gave a presentation, which were later summarized by the facilitator. The workshop ended with the concluding remarks of Prof. Shamsad Mortuza, Pro Vice Chancellor.
