The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and the HR Office jointly organized two full-day training sessions on 8 and 9 October 2024, tailored for non-academic officers and office staff, respectively. These sessions focused on enhancing mental health, well-being, and service effectiveness within the university. CETL Director Dr. M. Shazzad Hossain attended both the opening and closing of each training day.

On 8 October, sixteen non-academic officers participated in two impactful sessions. The morning session, “Mental Health and Well-being for Better Performance,” led by Ginia Midrha from PHWC, emphasized mental wellness as a key factor in productivity. The afternoon session, “Relationship Management,” facilitated by Muhammad Shafiqul Islam from LeadBD, covered interpersonal skills and effective relationship building. Activities included group discussions, presentations, interactive games, and outdoor exercises, encouraging active engagement and team cohesion.

On 9 October, twenty office staff members attended similar sessions. The morning session repeated the focus on “Mental Health and Well-being,” while the afternoon session, titled “Art in Service,” explored communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective service. This final session was also led by Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, who facilitated a blend of practical exercises and discussions.

Both training days were well-received, with participants actively engaging in activities and discussions. ULAB’s dedication to supporting the mental health and professional development of its non-academic staff underscores its commitment to fostering a positive, supportive, and efficient work environment.
